Description
Neonatal IV insertions are challenging due to the small, fragile veins of newborns, often resulting in failed attempts and complications. Current training methods rely on adult-based models that do not accurately represent neonatal anatomy or the difficulties nurses face. Many NICU and labor and delivery nurses report a lack of confidence in performing this procedure, even after years of experience. There is a critical need for improved training tools that better prepare nurses for real-world neonatal IV insertions.
