The Senior Design Team “Cooperative Hearts and Carts” is working with Neighborhood Cooperative Ministries (NCM), a faith-based nonprofit organization located in Gwinnett County, to support their goal of doubling the current output of food distributed to over 1 million pounds annually by 2026. The team will provide NCM with recommendations for an inventory management system, a warehouse redesign, and a supplier notification system. These will give NCM the ability to scale their operations to handle increased throughput through the system. The value of this project is measurable by the number of families served but is immeasurable by the impact it will have on the Gwinnett County community. These solutions will equip NCM to expand the organization’s reach and continue on the mission to make a meaningful difference in the community one family at a time.
