Description
Senior Design team "Etch-pertise" is working with Samsung Austin Semiconductor (SAS), a semiconductor foundry that specializes in manufacturing custom-designed semiconductor chips. SAS is currently concerned with cutting the operational costs of their etch system. More specifically, they want to minimize the total cost associated with running and maintaining a crucial quality control-step on their fleet of etch tools. The team is focused on leveraging mathematical programming techniques to derive improved decision making policies that enhance SAS's current chip manufacturing system. Such policies will be tested in a simulation model and compared against the status-quo using statistical analysis methods to provide significant improvement needed for implementation.
