We are investigating the effects of different heat treatments on the extent of hydrogen embrittlement of Inconel 718. Through mechanical testing and subsequent microstructural analysis, a heat treatment will be proposed that best mitigates the catastrophic failure of hydrogen embrittled parts. This project aligns with UNSDG 7: Affordable and Clean Energy, UNSDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure, and UNSDG 13: Climate Action.
