Description
Over 42,000 pop-up businesses in the US face difficulties finding locations and events. Retail businesses across the country have marketable space and are looking for more ways to generate both an increase in foot-traffic and revenue. Additionally, there is not a centralized platform that connects these two markets. This is where PopUp Spaces enters to create a symbiotic relationship to facilitate a connection between the two. PopUp Spaces is a website platform that connects pop-up businesses with available retail spaces. The PopUp Spaces' website, popupspaces.io, provides pop-ups with key features such as foot-traffic measuring or specified square footage for their set-up to meet the needs of both the retail space and the pop-up.

For the foot-traffic data, a Meshlium Scanner is placed in a storefront to measure the amount of active Blu-tooth connections within a given space. These active connections translates to the amount of individuals in an area. A pricing algorithm was created based on several factors, such as day of the week, foot-traffic output, square footage requested, demand of the retail space, and more. This all done to offer a fair and competitive price to the paying customer, pop-ups.

Throughout the course of the semester, PopUp Spaces has done 4 events and generated $814 (USD) in revenue.
