Description
Our team set out this semester to discover a problem that we cared about solving. After talking with numerous physical therapists we discovered a shocking fact: Gait analysis in most clinics is done entirely by the naked eye. Our mission became creating affordable and accessible gait analysis technology using components commonly found in other wearable activity trackers. Our device StrideLink is a first of its kind wearable gait tracking device. StrideLink was tested against a $40,000 research grade system and was shown to be within nominal margins of error. We are looking forward to seeing what kind of impact this device can have on how people recover during physical therapy and the potential role it can play in a telehealth appointment.
