Description
Large facilities require high cooling loads for most of the year which require heat to be pumped to the outside of the building. The heat that is rejected to the outside is wasted. Many of these facilities also have pools that require year-round heating. The waste heat from the building can be used to heat the pool which has the potential to reduce operation cost significantly. Additionally, using waste heat can decrease the environmental footprint by reducing energy and water needs of the building. Our project is to design a building waste heat recovery system for facilities that have this need. The system would take the waste heat from the chiller and use it to heat the pool.
