Small Unmanned Aerial Systems (SUAS) are commonly used by the military, law enforcement and other industries to remotely navigate hazardous situations. Such drones can include payloads for specific functions such as imaging or package delivery; however, there are no available solutions for two-way communication with people around a drone. The 3rd Ranger Battalion stationed in Afghanistan has requested a custom speaker payload for the FLIR R80D SkyRaider SUAS to communicate with civilians or troops without putting themselves in danger.
