Atlanta Emerging Markets, Inc. (AEMI) seeks innovative financing modes to invest in nonprofits, social entrepreneurs, and high-impact businesses in Atlanta’s underserved communities. This study’s purpose was to determine the best practices for AEMI to utilize when operationalizing this work by researching six financing programs across the country, conducting interviews with program administrators, and analyzing the various components that make these programs successful. We have conducted a thematic, cross-case analysis to identify these best practices; the results of which provide AEMI recommendations towards implementing its new financing program.
