Description
402 Commodities Maintenance Group (CMXG) and 402 Electronics Maintenance Group (EMXG) at Robins Air Force Base maintain, repair, and test aircraft radomes, which house radar and other electronic equipment. The goal of our project is to design a process flow and work station layout for a new facility, opening in 2030, that decreases transportation and weather delays, decreases cycle times, increases capacity, and adds capability for managing demand variation. The facility layouts and trade-off analysis from this project provide a customizable solution for building a new radome repair and maintenance facility that will meet increasing demands on time and remain adaptable as Air Force requirements shift.
