When interacting with the world around us, humans rely heavily on their tactile senses to understand the weight, shape, and texture of the objects they hold. To improve robotic manipulation, the ability to sense the “feel” of objects or surfaces is paramount. We seek to enable individuals to easily incorporate tactile sensing in their electronics projects with our solution, Tactio. Tactio is composed of chainable sensors that can cover a surface in order to inform the user of the forces occurring on said surface.
