The LiftAssist device is intended to assist EMS personnel during a call where a
patient has fallen and cannot get up independently. The primary application is
assisting patients who have experienced a fall and are unable to return to a
standing position without assistance. The system is intended to operate in a
confined space and is designed as a transportable field device that can be
carried to the patient, rapidly deployed, and used by one or two EMS workers.
Primary users are paramedics and EMTs responding to fallen patient calls.
Secondary users may include nurses, caregivers in nursing homes, and assisted
living staff
