Description
AltaCore Engineering conducted a comprehensive structural and site assessment of the historic McConnell–Chadwick House in Milton, Georgia, one of Cherokee County’s earliest 19th-century residences. The project evaluated the existing timber structure, foundation conditions, and material deterioration while developing preliminary stabilization and retrofit recommendations aligned with ASCE standards.
In addition to structural analysis, the team performed a full site layout and infrastructure assessment, reviewing grading, drainage, ADA access, and utility constraints. Based on these findings, AltaCore developed multiple adaptive reuse scenarios supported by feasibility analysis, cost considerations, and traffic and parking demand evaluations.
The project supports the City of Milton’s preservation goals and contributes toward National Register of Historic Places nomination efforts, balancing historic integrity with safe, sustainable future use.
