Description
Elevate Solutions Group is currently struggling to keep pace with work orders for their primary contact client due to a lack of standardized kitting processes. What initially appeared to be a concern limited to the time-consuming nature of scanning individual contact boxes revealed deeper systemic inefficiencies, including significant idle time, an ineffective multi-assembler packing method, and unnecessary worker movement throughout the assembly area. Our team's goal is to decrease overall kitting time, develop a standardized and efficient assembly layout, and optimize employee allocation in a way that accounts for proposed changes and potential cost savings. To achieve this, we are implementing a redesigned workflow supported by new technology, including handheld scanners with enhanced technology, 3D printed tools to eliminate double handling, and a reorganized parts layout to streamline assembly. Standardized operating procedures will also be developed to ensure all employees follow a consistent, repeatable process. Upon full implementation, Elevate Solutions Group can expect reduced kitting time, improved throughput, better employee utilization, and a uniform system that minimizes idle time and positions Elevate Solutions Group to consistently meet client demand.
