Description
The Clam Creek Bike Trail on Jekyll Island is facing significant environmental and structural challenges following the destruction caused by Hurricanes Matthew and Irma. The trail cuts through a marsh ecosystem that is increasingly impacted by tidal fluxes and shifting sand, which has deteriorated the existing asphalt surface. Therefore, the Jekyll Island Authority is looking for alternatives to repaving/replacing the entire trail to better address the longevity of the path. The scope prioritizes finding alternative material options that better suit the changing environmental conditions and creating a phased financial plan to execute the rehabilitation of the area.
