Description
Urban Roots Matrix reimagines Atlanta’s fragmented food and infrastructure systems as opportunities for regenerative design. Beginning with two emblematic sites—Georgia Tech and Vine City—we prototype a replicable, cross-scalar framework that localizes food, water, and energy systems. Modular hydroponic hubs, adapted to five urban conditions, integrate stormwater retention, renewable energy, and circular nutrient flows into architecture. These hubs empower food-insecure communities through co-ownership, education, and participatory public space. By embedding ecological systems into civic infrastructure, we advance a new urban metabolism rooted in equity, resilience, and self-determination.
